Data and Analytics division (DAA) is newly founded and dedicated to data hunting, big data and data analytics. We drive and coordinate Munich Re’s agenda for big data, advanced analytics, machine learning and AI. Our goal is to enable new and better business via data-centric solutions and create new strategic options through data & analytics excellence. The Advanced Analytics Department (DAA1.3) is responsible to develop own and to support other Munich Re data analytics solutions for our clients. We collaborate closely with business units, IT departments, and other central divisions across the Group.
Our department is looking for a curious and engaged intern to support our highly motivated and ambitious team. The focus area is on data engeering and data modelling. Flexibility regarding the specific work plan and start date can be offered.

Your job
● Contributing to the creation of a global cloud-based insurance database
● Creating and reviewing SQL load- and test scripts using state-of-the-art and open-source data pipelining tools
● Implementing interactive BI reports on data quality
● Drive new functionality checks to ensure a high standard in data integrity
● Supporting an agile and globally operating project team consisting of Business Experts, IT Architects, Data Engineers and Data Scientists

Your profile
● Studies in computer science, data science, data engineering, mathematics, statistics or related studies
● Experience with relational data models
● Knowledge in SQL
● Good technical understanding (IT and data affinity)
● Self-reliant and solution orientated thinking
